The Challenge The client, a leader in municipal water quality monitoring, faced a significant UX debt. Their engineers were struggling with legacy software that buried critical data in spreadsheets. They needed a modern, responsive interface that could surface anomalies instantly—whether the user was at a desk or in the field.

The Solution We engineered a modular design system in Figma focused on clarity and speed.

• Dashboard Architecture: We replaced dense data tables with a “Quick Access” card system. This allows facility managers to assess system health and active alerts in seconds.
• Data Visualization: We designed custom charting components to visualize water quality trends. The interface uses strict color coding (Green/Red) to signal system status, reducing cognitive load for operators.
• Field-Ready Mobile UI: Since technicians work on-site, we designed a mobile-first experience. The responsive view retains 100% of the desktop functionality, allowing for real-time data entry from the water treatment plant.
